6.7. Removal and installation of the fuel tank

See preventions at the beginning Dropping pressure in a power supply system.


Implementation of the procedure considerably becomes simpler if beforehand to devastate a gasoline tank.


 PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. For the purpose of dumping of excessive pressure uncover a jellied mouth of the fuel tank.
2. Dump residual pressure in a power supply system (see Dropping pressure in a power supply system).
3. Disconnect a negative wire from the battery.

If the stereosystem established on the car is equipped with a security code before disconnecting the battery make sure that you have the correct combination for input of the audio system in action!


4. Turn out a drain stopper and lower the fuel which remained in a tank in the prepared capacity of suitable volume (see an accompanying illustration). If the drain stopper is not provided, pump out fuel by means of special set which can be acquired practically in any shop of automobile accessories.


Do not suck away gasoline a mouth at all!


5. Remove a back seat (see the Head Kuzov) and disconnect an electrical wiring from the sensor of fuel consumption and the fuel pump (see Check of a state and replacement of fuel lines and their nipple connections and Removal and installation of the fuel pump). Also disconnect from the pump fuel hoses (see Check of a state and replacement of fuel lines and their nipple connections).
6. A car back also establish to Poddomkratta it on props.

7a. Remove protective panels of a gasoline tank and fuel lines. On the Civic models one big panel is used.

7b. On the Integra models – two small (see accompanying illustrations).

8. Mark and disconnect fuel hoses and arms of their fastening on a tank (see an accompanying illustration).

9. Prop up the fuel tank a floor jack. For distribution of loading lay a strong wooden bar between a head of a jack and the bottom of a tank.

10. Give bolts of fastening of both assembly brackets of the fuel tank (see an accompanying illustration).

11. Lower brackets and take a tank from under the car.
12. Installation is made upside-down.
